Eco-lands is a member of the New Zealand branch of "Willing Workers on Organic Farms Association"

We have a family farm near Kaeo and are begining to implement the proposed Sustainable Land Management design.
Starting with bare land we wish to build an environmentally friendly house, glass house for plant propagation and animal houses.

We are looking for helpers to make this design implementation more enjoyable and interesting. We offer simple living conditions in a friendly family environment with shared family meals. We expect ethusasim and aleast 4 hours participation in daily activities each day.

Wwoofa's could have the opportunity to experience and help develop:

  a mainland island for ecological bio-diversity enhancement,

forestry; on site indigenous and exotic timber production,

Environmental work experience;
Ecoland Ltd accept four enrolments per semester to anyone wishing to enrol on their 4 week long "Sustainable Land Management" work experience course.

Ecoland provides an individual bedroom, shared meals and amenities. Price : $ 1000.00

We would like to offer further "hands on" education to those with a strong commitment to generational thinking and land based industry.
Preference would be given to those who have undertaken the 4 week Environmental Work Experience course. Students have the opportunity to learn and experience without the pressures of having to work.

Students will be involved with Sustainable land management practices including aspects such as:

  • Natural & physical resource harness, harvest and management
  • Bio-diversity identification, protection & enhancement management
  • Forestry production & management
  • Livestock production & management
  • Horticulture production & management
  • Nursery production & management
  • Personal communication and social skills
  • Out doors survival skills
  • Machinery operating
  • Chainsaw safety skills
  • Basic construction skills
  • General farm maintenance

In the future we wish to offer the following:
environmental awareness cadetship. This being a paid position suited to those who wish to gain hands on experience and knowledge in the fields of Sustainable Land Managment and environmental awareness

  • farm cadets; Eco-land sustainable land use trainee's
  1 year practical experience certificate
2 year practical experience diploma
3 year "wise land use" graduation

max. 1 cadets per yearly intake
